Video: What is The Mint, really?
It has always been part of our mission to build BTV into the epicenter of fintech talent.
In the years before BTV, Sheel and I angel invested in more than 90 companies, and we built an accelerator to back another 80 or so. With that, we built amazing talent networks and earned reputations for supporting that talent in a unique way. We also built the track records that enabled us to start BTV, backing more than 10 unicorns along the way.
As founders, and as investors, we grew up in the pre-seed, 0→1, guerrilla-warfare type of world.
It's where we performed best in our own companies, and it's where we built our investing careers and our track records, coming in as a founder’s earliest supporters and helping them get off the ground.
We specialize, first and foremost, in nurturing talent. It’s one of our core values.
And with BTV, we want to build the best platform to nurture that upstart-builder talent, accelerate those early learning curves, and build a community and ecosystem for everyone to thrive in.
This is what comes naturally to us.
Enter: The Mint, our platform to support pre-seed founders.
Few early-stage investors specialize in fintech or provide founders with the relevant resources to move faster in the 0>1 phase.
And few have the experience to build a platform like this — capable of attracting great talent, creating the best community to support them, and significantly increasing their odds of success.
But at BTV, we’ve done it before, and we’ll do it again. This is our specialty and our obsession.
